R90 Lighting, one of the largest and best -known lighting houses of the Pacific northwest, recently received a delivery of Paragon LED profile devices just in time to use them with Gwen Stefani at a private event -one of the first big US shows to use the new flagship lighting from Elation.
“We didn't have a single swallow with these beautiful new lights,” said Joe Cole, owner of R90 Lighting, after the event. “Everything was great out of the box, and the spare parts remained in their cases. New products usually have some wrinkles for ironing, but these devices were chosen from the start. We look forward to seeing them in many shows in the coming months.”
The decision to expand the R90 stock with 48 Paragon M lights is part of the company's commitment to offer the latest high-performance LED lighting technology. The game replaces the long -time artist Picasso, who has served as a R90 profile device for years.
Test and decision-making process
The R90 team tested the Paragon first -hand in early January after he had a preview of the preview at LDI in December. Cole and his team carefully rated both the M and S models and compared them with other games on the market. “We finally chose Paragon M.. There are 37,000 lumens, which is a big leap from the Picasso, it is about the same weight, and now we get an IP evaluation.”
Cole says that they invited lighting designers to try the fittings, and they were particularly impressed by his gobo set, the variable CRI engine and the fast locking group. Cole added: “The color mixture is an enormous improvement and is quick in all aspects. It is a profile with full function that checks all the markings of a good, solid workhorse.”
Advantages for outdoor events
For Cole, the IP54 rating of the game was crucial. “Since we are based in Seattle, people always assume that we want IP65 feet, but there are limits of weight for mobile levels, so IP65 is not an option. It is nice to have something that is IP ratings and does not affect our weight load on smaller stages.”
Versatile furnishings with interchangeable lens system
One of the outstanding features of the Paragon M is its interchangeable lens system, with which the lamp can easily be turned into a fresnel or jet light from a professional light by exchanging the lentils. “We can exchange the profile lens with a Fresnel lens or a PC beam lens and essentially transform it into a washing bullet or a frail,” he said, pleased that separate furnishing investments were unnecessary. “It is a great all-in-one light. If we now need a different game type, we just have to exchange the lenses.”
