One of the stones with a weight of over 600 pounds landed at the upper roof level after the lightning strike and prompted immediate patches and repairs to avoid water damage.
Wilmington, Ohio – A mighty lightning tower on May 16 hit the top of the historic court building in Clinton County and loosened two stones with a weight of more than £ 600 each.
A stone fell onto the upper roof and damaged the rubber membrand roof. A temporary patch was used and the Tarete area to avoid further damage. Both stones were secured shortly after the incident.
In the following week, a crane returned the stones to their original positions. The area was completely waterproof to restore the integrity of the structure.
There is still little work to repair a decorative edge on one of the stones, whereby the repairs are expected after follow-up repairs. The courthouse is insured by County Risk Sharing Authority (Corso). Trisco Systems Inc. has completed the repair work.
