A recovery of a stately home in class I is under five projects selected for this year's Riba East Midlands Awards.
The renewal of Aynhoe Park in Northamptonshire by DHA architects converted two wings of the bunch of the 17th century into guest accommodation for weddings and functions and restored the dermatous gardens of the location.
The project will be accompanied on the list of a Hawkins Brown volunteer academy and a bus stop in Leicester from BDP.
Also in the race for the regional award is an art center in Nottingham by Price Gore and James Boon Architects by converting a class II gasworks to an event location.
Anne Schroell, chair of the jury of Riba East Midlands, Associate at Niall McLaughlin Architects, said that this year's shortlist reflects the “commitment to thoughtful, thoughtful design” of the region.
“Sustainability remains the heart of this year's selection, whereby architects with low -carbon solutions with carbohydrate -like and adaptive reuse to breathe in valued buildings new life, make sure that they will continue to serve and inspire future generations,” she said.
All projects that come into closer election for Riba Awards are visited by a regional jury, and the profit projects will be announced later in spring.
The winners will then be considered for several Riba Specards, including the Riba Sustainability Award and the Riba Building of the Year, before he is considered for a Riba National Award, which will be announced in the summer.
The selection list for the Riba Stirling Prize is drawn from the Riba National Award winning projects and announced in September. A winner will be announced in October.
