Gatesville – Hopefully the state financing of two school -based projects in Gates County will arrive in early October.
It seems that the financing has shifted due to the architect late under contract under contract under contract to submit the designs to the Ministry of Public Lessons (DPI) in North Carolina.
The two projects include the replacement of windows, HLK systems and roof repairs at the TS Cooper primary school and the Buckland Elementary School. These projects (1,716,000 US dollars at TS Cooper and $ 2,904,000 near Buckland) were approved by the county with the entire financing of DPI.
“The architect was contacted and apologized for not being transformed back into DPI in time,” said Dr. Barry Williams, superintendent of the Gates County Schools. “This delay was the cause of the delayed payment. The payment of the approval in September was to come in the first week of October.
“The Gates County Schools celebrate critical infrastructure needs and complete modernization efforts in all five schools. Funding for these improvements at primary schools and in the high school was financed for the citizens of Gates County and free of charge for the citizens of Gates County,” added Dr. Williams.
The delayed payment to the district was first addressed by the Gates County Commissioner Dave Forsythe. He made an explanation on his Facebook page last week.
“At the job session of the commissioner (from August 27th), we were informed that the school authority apparently did not pay its contractor for at least a few months for TS Cooper / Buckland Construction! Apparently it owes the contractor to more than 700,000 US dollars! The school system will never have the consent of the design for the design, which I can understand what I can understand for them For the district, the scholarships for the passport, to the district of the district in debt. [for the projects]«, Said Forsythe.
Scott Sauer, Manager of Gates County, confirmed that the board of directors was informed of the status of payments to providers and government refunds in connection with the two lottery-financed school capital projects at this working meeting.
“On August 28th, Dr. Williams and I Met With the Two Board Chairs, and Both Finance Directors to Discuss the Status of Thesis Payments, Including A letter Telephone Call With the Architect. As of this Date, I am Not Aware Of Any Change In The Status, And I Remain Optimistic The State Reiminmurs. very soon as the next cycle is scheduled for September 25THSauer said when answering an e -mail sent by this newspaper.
