In his second term, President Donald Trump made changes to the White House – including the historic rose garden.
Work on the rose garden began at the beginning of June, and this week pictures show that the grass of the garden removed and the crews started to pave it.
“It will be nice,” said Trump in February. “It will look, I think it will actually look better. But some people would like to leave it. But the problem is that you can't do it. We had the press here yesterday. Do you see the women there?
The work should be completed by August. “This restoration of the rose garden preserves the beauty of the room and builds on the work in 2020” People“With the focus on improving practical use and the guest experience for those who take part in special events.”
The modern design of the rose garden was founded decades ago during Kennedy administration. At that time, First Lady Jackie Kennedy worked with her friend, decorator Bunny Mellon and landscape architect Perry Wheeler to redesign the garden.
“The president had found that the White House had no garden in quality or attractiveness for the gardens that he had seen and in which he had been entertained in Europe. There he had recognized how important gardens around an official residence and its attraction were to the sensitivity of all people,” said Mellon later. “He wanted to start in the greatest hurry to convert the area near his office at the western end of the White House, known as the rose garden, into an area that is both useful and attractive.”
