"Spring Forward" for daylight saves time on Sunday morning

San Diego (CNS) – The residents of California have to remember to shoot their watches by an hour before going to bed.

The annual “Spring Forward” practice means that the weekend will be an hour shorter than usual.

As always, firefighters and other health authorities asked people to use the time change as a memory to check the smoke detectors and replace the batteries. It is also a good time to reset timer on outdoor lights and lawnsprinker systems.

Some standard rules of fire departments and other officials who rule smoke detectors are:
– Install smoke detectors on all floors of your house or apartment.
-If the devices in your electrical system are firmly wired, you should have a battery -powered smoke detector for the battery in the event of a power failure.
– Mount alarms high on the walls, at least four to 12 inches from the ceiling.
– Never paint a smoke detector.
– Use a vacuum cleaner to remove lint or dust.
– Test the smoke detectors regularly. If the smoke detector is “chirps”, this is an indication of a low battery that should be changed.

The automotive club in Southern California traditionally warns morning drivers to be looking for pedestrians for pedestrians, as it gets dark for an hour in the morning.

The time change means that California is shifted to the same hour as most arizona, which does not change time to daylight. Hawaii also remains in its standard time, which means that the islands will be three hours earlier than Los Angeles instead of two hours in the next six months.
