A Todmorden Town Deal project takes a step forward.
The restoration of the bandstand and redevelopment of the bowling pavilion at Todmorden's Center Vale Park has taken a step forward as Town Deal partner, Todmorden City Council, launched a tender for contractors to deliver work on the bandstand and bowling pavilion. Pavilion published.
The bowling pavilion redevelopment and bandstand renovation are key elements of a package of improvements to Center Vale Park funded by Todmorden Town Deal's £17.5 million investment program, including upgrading the existing tennis courts and creating a multi – Use the games area.

The Center Vale Park project aims to provide residents and visitors with opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing and benefit from higher quality sports, leisure and recreational facilities in the park.
The Grade I listed Edwardian bandstand at Center Vale Park is one of only five surviving open-fronted “theatre” style bandstands in the United Kingdom.
The project envisages a complete restoration of the unique structure, securing its future for community use for performances, festivals and events throughout the year.
The redevelopment of the bowling pavilion will provide a flexible and accessible base for the various community groups active in the park, including Todmorden in Bloom, Military Veterans, Todmorden Bowling Association and Friends of Center Vale Park.

The tender was also made possible by Todmorden City Council securing almost £500,000 of additional funding to complement the Town Deal investment, including £250,000 from the Community Ownership Fund for the bandstand and £200,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the Bandstand Bowling Pavilion.
