The historic Dearborn Inn, which was originally intended by Henry Ford and designed by Albert Kahn, reopened with major renovation work.
7 News Detroit was there on Wednesday when the officers marked the great reopening with a band cutting.

The hotel is now part of Marriott and part of the company's autograph collection with 135 rooms on 23 hectares. It is also in the national register of historical places.
During the renovation work, the crews kept original design elements such as chessboard marble floor and a green marble fireplace in the lobby. The redesign was directed closely with the Ford family.
The hotel was originally built in 1931 and welcomed legendary guests such as Walt Disney, Orville Wright, Norman Rockwell and more.
Guests have many interactive elements, including a vintage photobooth, open sketchbooks and roving bars.
There are also two new eating concepts. The first is AA Farm-to-Table restaurant called Clara's table, inspired by Clara Fords love for the garden. There is also a cocktail bar called four vagabonds in honor of Henry Ford's road trips, Thomas Edison, John Burroughs and Harvey Firestone.
Later this year, the officials said that they would reintroduce the guest rooms in five colonial houses on the property and 17,000 square meters of session and event space.

The Dearborn Inn reopens. It was historical property because it was opened as one of the first airport hotels in America in 1931. Henry Ford traveled around and Ford had entered the aircraft business and there was an airport directly on the other side of the street, so we welcomed guests to visit Ford Motor Company.
