Fredericksburg, Texas-Das National Museum of the Pacific War, announced the successful return of a rare Japanese tank from the First World War, the CHI HA medium of type 97, on Monday.

The Chi-Ha-Medium tank of type 97 was officially broadcast as part of a Museum operated in March 2024 between the Admiral Nimitz Foundation-Das in March 2024, and the civil servants of the museum gave along on Monday.

In return, the National Museum of the Pacific War received a historically precise replica of the HA-Go light tank of type 95.

According to a press route, the replica in the immersive program programs of the museum, which improves educational efforts and interactive interpretation of Pacific theater history.

“This exchange is not only an important cultural and historical event, but also an unprecedented moment of international cooperation and goodwill,” said David Shields, director of the National Museum of the Pacific. “The return of the Chi-Ha medium tank of type 97 to Japan underlines our commitment to preserving the global military heritage and strengthening international friendships.”

The return attracted international attention and raised personal gratitude messages from several high -ranking Japanese civil servants, including the Japanese Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Economic Security and the Mayor of Gotemba.
