The national home remodeling company is abruptly closing its stores, impacting customers in Arizona

A nationwide home renovation company filed for bankruptcy and dissolved this week, leaving customers, including people in Arizona, out of money for work that doesn't get done.

Renovo Home Partners LLC filed for bankruptcy on November 3 and has since closed its website. It was the parent company of 19 affiliated companies, all of which have closed.

The company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which liquidates a business by selling its property to repay creditors.

Reborn Cabinets was one of the Arizona companies affected. Phoenix resident Bill Zint hired Reborn to replace the cabinets in his home earlier this year. Zint, who connected with Reborn Cabinets through Costco, considers himself lucky: Most of the work on his $43,000 job was completed at the time of the bankruptcy.

The company completed the work but had to fix several quality issues, including replacing a cutlery drawer, Zint said. Although most of the problems were resolved, the drawer still had not been replaced by the end of October.

Company representatives were supposed to return to his home over the weekend, but the plumber didn't show up, Zint said. When he contacted the representative, he received a message that the owner of Reborn had suddenly closed its doors and laid off employees.

In addition to Reborn Cabinets, Dreamstyle Remodeling, which operates in the Phoenix area, also closed.
