New York – The New York Fashion Innovation Center (NYFIF) will open applications for the second round of its grant program of 10,000 US dollars on April 15.
The nationwide initiative supports farmers, researchers, manufacturers and designers who build a more sustainable, more resilient and locally connected textile ecosystem in the state of New York.
The next round will continue to promote NYFIF's mission to promote innovation and cooperation in the entire state fashion and internal industry. In March, the NYFIF awarded its first series of grants with eight projects that represent a wide range of work, including regenerative home decor, wool coloring, regional knitting and education.

-grants are open to individuals, companies and organizations based in New York, which match the projects with the NYFIF focus areas:
- Sustainable textile applications for fashion and interiors
- Sustainable fiber cultivation and processing for textile development
- Biomaterials of the next generation and production
- Textillie chain and infrastructure development
– Round two applications will be accepted from April 15 to June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET at nyfic.org/grants.
– A virtual Q&A meeting will take place on April 22nd at 12:00 p.m. (ET).
– Subsidiary receivers will be announced in autumn.

- Virtual three -month business accelerator that focuses on customer discovery, business planning, strategy and brand positioning
- Opportunities to demonstrate their work at NYFIFIC-hosted events and nationwide meetings
- Procurement support by the Northeast fiber Exchange (NEFX), a regional initiative that strengthens access to the natural fibers grown in New York
- Access to the upcoming NYFIC laboratory, a new facility for fiber and textile prototypes, tests and development, which will open in December at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Nyfif was developed under Governor Kathy Hochul with an investment of almost 9 million US dollars from the development of the Empire State to revolutionize the New York textile industry.
