Animal shops have a lot of sweet dog toys, but they can cost them a lot to continue replacing them. Using fabric and filling from your dog's old toy is a great way to save you money. If you have no fabric, you can even improve your old clothes.

You could be surprised at how much difference it could make to find more sustainable ways to entertain your puppies.

According to the friendly pet, “634 million dog toys are thrown away in the United States every year. With 80 million dogs, more than seven toys per puppy are at the landfill every year.”

While dog toys are not the only objects on landfills, sustainability for everyone explained that landfill gases, a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide, released the atmosphere. These gases heat the planet and contribute to the frequency and severe extreme weather events such as heat waves, hurricanes and droughts.

In addition, landfills contaminate the local groundwater and the soil.

So the next time you snap this sweet plush dog toys, think about how long your dog will actually play with it and what happens after your furry baby has fun.

If you are not much craft, Petsmart has started environmentally friendly programs, including the recycling of old dog toys.

Many pet parents on Reddit were enthusiastic about this hack.
