The restoration of power supply begins throughout the capital region

BATON ROUGE – Early Wednesday morning, cold weather crept into homes across the Capital Area where power was out.

This morning, DEMCO reported that nearly 2,600 customers were without power in Livingston Parish. DEMCO is currently reporting no outages in the region.

Entergy reported that fewer than 500 people were without power in both Ascension and East Baton Rouge parishes, and later that evening there were fewer than 150.

Whitney Ross lives in an apartment complex near Burbank Drive and Pecan Tree. Ross says she woke up to freezing temperatures.

“When I got outside it seemed like everyone had no power, but the sun was shining,” Ross said. “When I arrived at my house there was no light, no electricity and no heating.”

An Entergy representative told WBRZ that there were sporadic outages throughout Baton Rouge on Wednesday and that power would be restored as outages were reported.
