This house -upgrade gains popularity – and for good reason.
The 2024 heat pumps & homeowner index, which was commissioned by Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC (Metus), interviewed over 1,000 US homeowners and found an overall positive opinion of heat pumps.
Homeowners are becoming increasingly aware of what heat pumps are, how they work and what advantages of possession of one.
Heat pumps work by transferring heat instead of producing it. In the warmer months, heat pumps press the warm air outside of their house. In the winter months, heat pumps pull warm air off the ground to heat your home.
Almost 40% of those surveyed had a heat pump, a significant increase compared to the survey of 2023, in which one owned less than a quarter of homeowners. Of the home owners of the heat pump, 90% “of the heat pump owners surveyed would recommend them to others,” said the index.
The installation of a heat pump offers several advantages – surveyed homeowners mentioned “higher energy efficiency, better heating and higher cost savings” than the best advantages of possession of the heat pump. They are simple, efficient and affordable, especially with tax credits within the framework of the Inflation Redutation Act.
