Helena's residents are probably reminiscent of the most important restoration work that has been carried out in the St. Helena cathedral in recent years. This work is now being recognized internationally.
The long-lasting slate and restoration companies, the group that carried out the restoration, were awarded for their work via the cathedral as the finalist for the IFD (International Federation of the Roofing Trade). Especially for their work, the “lifting and relay” of the cathedral of the centuries -old clay storm roofs of St. Helena.
A few years ago, the 109-year-old cathedral suffered damage from a powerful windstorm that displaced clay tiles on the southern church tower, which also required stabilization.
The long-lasting restoration worked on Biers for two years, restored to profit precise building materials and techniques to restore the Helena brand.
The organization was also recognized for its work in the Heinz Memorial Chapel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized for our work at an international level and to represent the remarkable skills in the United States,” says Gary Howes, President of the Permanent Lovers. “We are immensely proud of our craftsmanship, and it would be a monumental performance for our crews to come home for the first time at the IFD for the first time.”
