Schuster followed recommendations from the Insurance Institute for Economic Affairs and Security when she rebuilt her home and deck. This includes:
- Use non -compliant materials such as metal and concrete.
- Hold the furniture and decor five feet from the house.
- Terrace furniture made of non -combined material.
- The pillows are okay, but set them up with high fire damage indoors during the days.
- Choose non -combustible materials for planters.
- Hold the plants irrigated and healthy, cut out dead vegetation and do not use mulch.
- Do not save any flammable objects under the deck.
- Use the metal network to lock the room under the deck to keep rubble away.
- Hold grills and outer kitchens 5 feet from the walls of your house.
- Monitor grills and outer kitchens if you use them.
