This Parisian apartment has the pink library that we have ever seen

Eli Mizrahi, founder of the Mônot fashion label, is known for the evening clothing turned with head, which he creates for friends like Hailey Bieber, Gisele and Kate Moss. The designer born in Lebanese and the long -time New Yorker have a unique and daring view. When he ventured into a Parisian apartment, he grew up.

According to Paris standards, the room in a building from 1860 near Parc Monceau is enormous with six bedrooms and three bathrooms – a total of 4,300 square foot. But while his expansion made an explanation, the apartment was far from the daring and imaginative showplace that Mizrahi had imagined. In its most recent iteration, it was indeed a law firm. To transform it, he turned to his iPhone, where his Instagram feed had recently been filled with pictures that showed the striking work of a young architecture and design studio in Paris, Uchronia. “You are brave and different, and I liked that,” he says.

Verner Panton's legendary Kleeblatt -Sofa anchored the library.

For Uchronia's founder, Julien Sebban, it is more of the norm than an anomaly to obtain the equivalent of a cold call from a potential customer via a direct message on social media. Uchronia was founded in 2019 and collected Sebban, when Sebban designed the Forest decor, a brutalist brasserie in the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. In a city that is known for reserved elegance, Uchronia immediately stood out with its playful vocabulary of bright colors, funny flowers and wavy patterns. “Eli saw one of our flower tables on Instagram, and so it all started,” says Sebban.

Nevertheless, Mizrahi's project brought the young Paris design company to the next level both on both scale and in the budget. In this customer, Sebban found an active employee and collector for whom the sky was the border. Mizraahi brought the project to a wealth of Blue Chip Art by Richard Prince, George Condo, Jean-Michel Basquiat and many others. He also gave Uchronia Carte Blanche to commission art and design especially for the Parisian apartment. “I am attracted to works that make me think,” says Mizrahi. “I'm looking for pieces of young and aspiring artists.”

But as ambitious as the project was, Mizraahi endeavored to pull in. Sebban and his team visited the room in the summer of 2023 and quickly developed a plan. “Eli wanted a funny version of a home -made apartment, something with a turn,” says Sebban. Uchronia served a Marigold kitchen, an emerald primary bath and a mirror room inspired by Versailles with a table with seating countries and window treatments with ginormous tailor-made silk arches.

However, the scene-related decoration is based on the craft and an understanding of traditional architecture. Uchronia restored the classic functions of the apartment and improved them with new parquet floor, plaster strips and custom mirrors. The idea was to play with classicism, but to give him a modern shoot. For example, Sebban took a historical design trope – on the designs on the wall clips – and turned it upside down by commissioning artists Ebony Russell to create dozens of vases in customer -specific colors for the kitchen and the main salon. “Almost everything was local,” says Sebban. “Every room was a common effort between us and the artists and craftsmen.”

In a city of reserved elegance, Uchronia immediately stood out with its playful vocabulary of bright colors and wavy patterns.

Perhaps the most surprising space of all is the library, which is used by a customer -specific pink ceiling, a suitable velvet modular sofa by Verner Panton and a wavy chandelier in pink and red Murano glass, which was commissioned by designer Christian Pellizzari for the room. Mizraahi went back to the way. “He wanted a big gesture, something interesting and fun,” says Sebban. It is definitely a statement, but the space still manages to feel comfortable and talkative, with its soft palette and their individual shelves full of books and art. “It's like a boudoir,” adds Sebban.

Somehow Uchronia succeeded, within a year and with a customer who was deeply involved, but was constantly on the move. Every detail in the apartment, from lighting to the bug -shaped cutlery that appears during the dinner parties, was tailored for the project. When Sebban was asked about the challenges, he laughs and says: “The timeline! And the goal of creating a coherent project in which everything is related. But to be honest it was a dream. The best thing was the chance to work closely with my customer and give him exactly what he wanted. “◾ ◾
