“This problem only gets worse”

"This problem only gets worse"

If your dream property includes centuries-old trees, it is downright devastating to discover a neighbor who is hacking on you if one of them is a 120-year-old purple bush.

This is exactly what happened to a Minnesota family who shared her story about the R/Treelaw Subreddit. A Reddit user explained how her neighbors badly damaged several healthy trees – and even turned on.

“We found out when they started down with a chainsaw to download trees,” the Redditor wrote.

The family has a campsite surrounded by trees, a few up to 150 years or more. Your neighbors decided to remove the property border on a cold winter day with temperatures below zero.

Unfortunately, your neighbor of 70 years had a different definition of garden cleaning. Not only have they cut a few trees and raised the fallen branches. Instead, they cut five healthy trees and an estimated purple Busch back.

“To make things worse, they actually cut each other past their part of the property border and us through a good foot,” said the Reddit poster.

This excessive circumcision and violation of ownership lines caused great burdens to the mother of the poster. Fortunately, they avoided further damage because the mother and the Reddit user went outside and confronted the neighbors when they looked at around 150-year-old oaks.

As if she wanted to add salt to the wound, the neighbors supposedly put the tree waste in a fire stack and loaded the larger parts into a trailer before driving off. This incident emphasizes a common and frustrating challenge of property in property – an unpredictable neighbor.

While most of them dream of having friendly neighbors, not all are ideal. In such cases, difficult neighbors not only cause stress – they can actively damage environmentally conscious efforts.

For example, a organic gardener could lose its pollinating-friendly plants to the poisonous weed-ons of a neighbor. Disputes like this can prevent homeowners from pursuing environmentally friendly landscape design as a whole.

“What can be done?” advocated the poster and hoped for the support of the Reddit community.

The best way to deal with a neighborly dispute is to speak directly to you. Try to understand your perspective and work together on a solution. Otherwise it may be time to seek legal assistance.

“Lawyer and the tree borist as soon as possible. This problem will only worsen,” warned a Redditor.

“This is not a cut. This is blasphemic butcher,” said another.

Another user suggested: “Find all the images you may have that show your trees and purple. The tree carer can use you to give you an estimate of the original tree value. Document everything!”
