As someone who has a Rottweiler that sheds hair, drools, and occasionally runs half way around the house, I'm always careful to keep my floors really clean. I've never been a fan of harsh chemical cleaners. I want my home to look and smell pristine, but I prefer to achieve this without filling the air with fumes or leaving residue where the dog likes to roam. So I decided to put the Tineco S7 Stretch Steam to the test. I wanted to see if all the talk about chemical-free disinfection and self-cleaning convenience holds up in everyday life.
If you know me (and you probably don't, so you'll just have to trust me), I'm not a read-the-manual-first kind of girl. I’m more of an “instructions are plan B” type of person. However, even after a quick glance, I noticed how many intelligent functions this thing had. Self-cleaning, voice prompts, automatic dirt detection and all the technology that makes it seem more like a spaceship than a floor cleaner. I was immediately fascinated.
First Impressions: Smart Technology Meets the Reality of Pet Owners
The box was so heavy that I briefly wondered if I had accidentally ordered fitness equipment after a few late-night beers. Don't let the initial weight scare you. Out of the box it still weighed a few kilos, but once I started using it I barely noticed the weight.
Assembly was an absolute breeze. Click the handle into the base until it clicks into place. Completed. No tools. No swearing. No YouTube tutorials. If you can break apart chicken wings, you can assemble this.
The dry filter and brush roller were already installed and spare parts are also available. I love a brand that is preparing for the future.
The manual says that it takes about 3.5 hours to fully charge. Mine hit 83% and reached 100% within 30 minutes. It also has an impressive battery life of several months in standby mode when not in use.
It's also compact. Easily stored in a corner or against a wall. My overzealous, everything-is-for-me, gift-loving Rottweiler couldn't knock it down. It passed the “big dog tail test.”
After the quick setup, I placed it on the charging station.

Features that impressed me

- Super easy controls: An on/off button, a cleaning mode switching button and a self-cleaning button. I was really impressed by how easy it was to use. Everything is at thumb height – you don't have to bend down to change modes.
- Self-propelled cleaning: The moment I leaned it back; It took off as if it had to be somewhere urgent. I barely ran it. As someone who can tire easily due to MS, this part felt almost emotional. Cleaning without effort? Yes, please.
- Wisdom: Thanks to its integrated intelligent sensor, it even automatically adjusts the suction power and water flow. No guesswork, just flawless results every time.
- Blue LED floor lighting: This little blue light visible dirt that I didn't know existed. A little frightening, but still extremely satisfying.
- Combination of steam + washing + vacuuming: Confession: I didn't vacuum first. In one pass it picked up dirt and dog hair and washed the floor. To my surprise, the floors dried within seconds.
- No puddles
- No “The floors are lava” game
- There is no need to lock the dog outside to wait 20 minutes for the floor to dry
- Multiple languages for voice prompts: English is already installed, additional languages will be added over time. If your household is multilingual, your floor cleaner can join the club.
- Security and range: It fit right under furniture and hugged baseboards surprisingly well. You can lay it almost flat to reach under furniture. It stops when upright (great if you need to step back while cleaning) and starts again when reclined.
- Hard floor hero: Designed for sealed wood, vinyl and tiles. Not for sawdust, construction debris, sharp objects or chemical spills.
In other words, perfect for home use, not for a renovation rescue mission. The three-chamber water system keeps clean and dirty water completely separated, so fresh water always reaches your floors. - Joy for dog parents: Stormy weekend + muddy Rottweiler paws = ideal testing conditions. It handled the chaos like a pro.

After cleaning, I docked it and pressed “self-clean” when prompted.
It washed the roller, flushed the system and spun it dry.
It's a little loud for a few minutes, but the results? It's worth it.
The first container of dirty water was in front…then the roller flusher pulled out just as much. Gross? Yes. Strangely addictive? Also yes.
The roller came out flawless. My soul also felt cleansed. The FlashDry system really does what it promises. The hot air drying kept the roller clean and odor-free.
I'll think about this dirty water in therapy.

100% YES.
This is the first steam vacuum-mop hybrid that has ever gotten me excited about cleaning floors, and that's coming from someone who usually needs to lie down (and drink a few beers) after mopping.
I shouted to my husband several times how great it was that I wasn't tired and how clean the floors were. He didn't understand it, but when you know it, you know it.
It's intuitive, operates upright, self-propelled, quick-drying, and self-cleaning. If housework had a “Level Up” button, this is it.
Apart from the user-friendliness, what is particularly worth highlighting is the health-friendliness of this machine. Using only water and heat, it provides a thorough clean without chemicals, ideal for anyone who wants a hygienic, eco-friendly home that is safe for children and pets.
Would I recommend it?
Absolutely. My only regret is that I didn't try it sooner, especially as someone who values energy-saving and eco-friendly home hacks.
