Habitat for humanity brings people together to build houses, communities and hope. The organization has teamed up with more than 800 families in Kent County through home ownership and home repairs. A good way to support this mission: Buy in the Habitat for Humanity Restore. On the northwest side of Grand Rapids there is a newer, larger location that is a great stopover for everyone who wants to carry out renovations or repairs at home. The Discount Home Improvement Center offers new and gently used building material, devices, kitchen cupboards and more.
The restoration also accepts donations. When you replace these cupboards or devices, the crews remove your items safely and bring them to the store to get a new life in another house. Recovery sells products with 50-70% below the average retail price to the public and all sales are suitable for the construction and rehabilitation of more houses.
