A weak tropical storm system that unexpectedly developed west of Mexico and California could create light and sporadic showers in San Diego County this weekend, which may affect some of the many outdoor events that are supposed to take place.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be a little more warmer than ordinary, with the temperatures in San Diego reaching a distance of 73 degrees or higher. However, the tropical moisture will move ashore late a day and spread from the coast to the foothills and valleys.
Prognostics say that the moisture on Friday and Saturday evening in Petco Park could produce a lot of fog when the Padres organizes the Pittsburgh Pirates, and on Sunday when the teams can play their third game at 2:10 p.m.
The low weather was also able to dampen the spirits at Harbor Beach in Oceanside on Saturday, when the beach football championship is underway. And it could take until Saturday evening when San Diego's summer films in the parking program are to examine the baseball film “The Sandlot” at 8 p.m.
But the cool, damp air could prove to be a tonic for runners early Sunday morning when the Rock'n'roll marathon begins in Balboa Park at 6:15 a.m. The race is expected to attract almost 30,000 competitors.
