Tumwater Timberland Library is being remodeled | The JOLT News Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The City of Tumwater and the Tumwater Timberland Library (TRL) jointly announced announced in a press release that the library will be closed for renovations from January 11th to 26th.

Limited operations are expected to resume on January 27 during construction.

Following the full closure, the library will reopen to allow patrons access to a limited selection of materials, public computers, printing and internet in the library meeting room Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The redevelopment aims to transform the library into a more modern structure that includes an innovative new children's area, improved areas for all ages and a refreshed layout that improves accessibility and efficiency.

“The Tumwater Timberland Library is a cornerstone of our community and we are excited about these updates. The conversion will ensure this important space continues to serve as a hub for learning, exploration and connection,, said Mayor Debbie Sullivan in the Press release.

The library's renovation is scheduled to be completed by June 2025, and a grand reopening celebration is planned.

In the meantime, patrons are encouraged to visit other Timberland Regional Library branches. includingOlympia,Western Olympics,Lacey andHawks Prairiewith everything accessible by bus. TRL also offers extensive online resources at TRL.org.

Assistant Library Director Bernard Weathersbee thanked the community for their patience and support with these necessary updates.
