Veteran Priority Repair Program, that of Habitat | is offered | News

Cadillac – The Cadillac Area Habitat for Humanity has started the Veteran Priority Repair Program, which focuses on critical repairs of household goods for veterans in the counties Wexford, Missaukee and Oscola.

The program includes repairs or exchange of roofers, changes to accessibility such as wheelchair ramps and grave rods, repairs for electrical systems and structural safety improvements.

It is open to us military veterans who have their home as the main residence. Applicants must meet income guidelines, prove repairs and be willing to work with a habitat.

“As a veteran, it is not always easy to ask for help. You have got used to doing things alone. But when I needed help lately, I reappeared.

The long -term goal of the habitat for humanity is to ensure that everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home. The organization continues to offer services that help families realize the dream of residential property.

“We are a manual recording, not a handout. Our families go away with a house, a mortgage and a future,” said Managing Director Amy Gibbs.

In February 1987 the habitat for humanity was set up in Cadillac. He opened the restoration in 2005 and moved both the affiliate office and the restoration in 2010. Missaukee County was added in the organization's service area in 2023. Almost 50 families were brought into permanent apartments, and 75 families were helped by the A brush -Bodness -Project project.

Habitat welcomes financial donations, volunteers for installation locations and committees and donated articles for recovery.
