The City of Victor Zoning Board of Appeals held its regular meeting last week and considered amendment requests from Chick-fil-A and Phoenix Mills Plaza, among others. No decisions were made at the meeting and the board is expected to vote on them at a later meeting.
Chick-fil-A requests signage variations
Representatives from Chick-fil-A, located at 7979 Pittsford Victor Road, submitted a revised application requesting variances to allow signage on building facades that do not face a public right-of-way or parking lot – an exception to City Code Section 165-5(B)(3).
One element of the original proposal, a sign on the west facade, was withdrawn. The revised application included:
- Two signs on the south facade totaling 100.65 square feet
- A 35 square meter sign on the east facade
According to the applicant, the additional signage will improve visibility from multiple directions. Board members questioned the precedent such approvals could set, particularly for signage on walls not adjacent to the public. No citizens commented on the request.
Lighting requested for Phoenix Mills pergola
A representative of Phoenix Mills Plaza, 100-410 Phoenix Mills Plaza, requested a modification to a previously granted variance that allowed for the installation of a pergola in front of the construction line. The applicant now wishes to illuminate the pergola to accommodate a potential restaurant tenant who would like to use the space for outdoor dining.
The board discussed the lighting plan, and although no objections were raised, no vote was taken. Board members signaled general support but will continue to review the request before making a decision.
Other business and future promotions
While the board also heard applications related to accessory buildings, no votes were taken during the meeting. All variance requests submitted on November 3 are still under review and are expected to be decided at a future meeting.
