Wave House is the first high-end, apartment-style hotel to open in the coastal town of El Zonte, El Salvador.
The property — with architecture by local firm López Hurtado and interiors by CHWashington Studio — features 19 residential-style accommodations ranging from studios to three-bedroom penthouse suites. Each unit is equipped with its own kitchen and offers access to the area's black sand beaches, local restaurants and world-class surf breaks.
Studio residences offer ocean views from private balconies or terraces, while two-bedroom units offer a mix of ocean and mountain views visible from terraces, bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens.
For added convenience, the three-bedroom residences offer indoor and outdoor living spaces, including one with a private pool.
The interiors have been designed with an emphasis on local craftsmanship and feature custom furniture by CHWashington Studio. Textiles from Lulu Mena, a female-led brand that empowers women in high-risk areas of El Salvador, and pottery from Shicali Ceramics, a nonprofit that supports people with disabilities, add regional character to spaces.
Wave House fosters deeper cultural connections through its lobby art gallery, which showcases works by local artists, and by partnering with local chefs like Bendito Fuego to provide culinary experiences.
Other amenities include an outdoor infinity pool, a cocktail bar in collaboration with Minibar Miami, and a 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace.
The property also features a lounge, workspace and rooftop spa equipped with a hot tub, cold plunge pool, biomechanics gym and physiotherapy and massage treatment rooms.
