The Enquirer's Just Askin 'series aims to answer the questions that no one seems to have an answer, not even Google.
We at The Enquirer want to answer your Questions.
The column just questioning is there. We give you answers to things you see in our region and let them “huh?”
Here is a perfect example: the old YMCA building on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, which is still free about 20 years after the purchase of the university.
A reader sent us by e -mail and said: “UC did a wonderful job that rehabilitated the old YMCA building on Calhoun.
Well, here is what we found out.
Ask: What's going on with the old YMCA building on the UC campus?
Answer: Not much. Seriously.
There are no current plans for the building, a spokesman at the university told the Enquirer.
The university bought the building from 1929 in 2005 with the plan to capture it and use it if they were ever needed.
However, the university said that the building needs great work and renovation to convert. When buying the building, it was empty and in a neglected state. The university worked to secure the structural integrity of the building and weatherproof.
The spokesman said the university is now making predictions and repairs “as needed”. In 2023, the University of Sturmenwinden installed structural and roof repairs to continue to protect them from bad weather. The university also restored the masonry to prevent water damage to the building and cleaned up dangerous materials.
But so that the building is neededWell, that requires something more serious TLC. And for the time being, the university did not have to use the building.
