In the middle of a kitchen conversion? In this case, the selection of a new wash basin is probably at the top of your to-do list as it should be. The pure aesthetics of a wash basin can create or break the mood of your kitchen, and the functionality is obviously nothing to do. Peasant house sinks have long been popular, but as we all know, come and go styles. This raises the question: Is the farmhouse on the way outside or is it still a clever investment?
To achieve this edition, we consulted Artem Kropovinsky, interior designer and founder of Arschight Studio, an award -winning interior design based in New York City. When asked whether the trend of the wash basin will soon go out of fashion, his answer was simple: “It is no longer a trend. Like Shaker cabinets and U -Bahn -Fliesen, the farmhouse -washing basin remain because they are rooted both in history and in the big one.”
So, yes, it seems that the modest farmhouse washing basin das Kropovinsky as “timeless” is always a safe style for your kitchen here. However, this does not mean that it is the right choice for everyone and not all farmhouses are the same. Kropovinsky gave us a few tips that everyone who had considered a farmhouse sink should take into account during their search.

While farmers' sinks are a safe and functional bet for most consumers, they may not be the best choice for your kitchen. With regard to the function, your attraction is obvious and quite universal. Kropovinsky says: “The deep pool is very practical, especially if they cook a lot or have large pots and pans for washing.” Since you can store a decent amount of cooking dishes at the same time, the depth of the peasant kitchens can be of crucial importance so that you can maintain a chaotic cuisine. That means nobody says that other sinks cannot be deep.
Kropovinsky adds that different aesthetics require different sinks, and not every aesthetics will completely accommodate the sink of the farmhouse. “They are ideal for people who love a warm, lived look and value function,” he says. “But if the kitchen is ultra-modern or compact, there can be better adjustments.” Modern kitchens may benefit more from a sink made of stainless steel. So don't choose a sink from farmhouse just because it is stylish because it actually collapses with her kitchen.
Think about whether you absolutely have to have a slightly cleaned sink. “Some versions can make it easier than other spots or chip,” explains Kropovinsky. For this purpose, you would like to choose your farmhouse carefully. Fortunately, they have a number of options; Kropovinsky quotes “Fireclay, stainless steel and cast iron” as just a few of the materials from which you can choose.
