Home Genius Exteriors donated windows for Habitat for Humanity of South Central New Jersey worth $ 100,000, a local branch of the national organization that offers affordable property and repair services.
The donation was officially celebrated on April 7 at a small ceremony in the restoration of the organization.
“Growth has granted us the ability to have resources in order to help, and the most respected part is to look back on what we did and that we are proud of,” said Austin Killian, co -founder and vice president of the East region for Home Genius Exteriors.
The leadership of both home genius and in the habitat for humanity took part in the ceremony and brought volunteer teams to deliver, sort and organize donated materials.
“In the past, we had some unusable and unused windows from previous projects,” remarked Ambrose Powell, a regional installation manager for Home Genius Exteriors, “and they were sitting in our warehouse. We cannot necessarily use them in any house that arises … So we have a phenomenal opportunity to help the community.”
The windows are not installed in houses built by Habitat, but are sold to restore, which sells building materials and household goods at a reduced price and using the profits to continue to build affordable houses in the community.
“Restoration plays an important role in our mission by selling donated materials to a fraction of the costs, keeping usable items away from landfills and generates proceeds that directly support the affordable apartment efforts in our communities,” said John Garton, CFO/COO of the region in the region, in a public statement, which announced the chip of the home genial.
Home Genius has an initiative called Home Genius Cares, for which the company gives away a small percentage of the funds from each paid project at least once in the quarter to present donations and volunteer opportunities for its employees in each department.
“So our employees actually went out and found an opportunity with Habitat for Humanity, where they have a program that enables them to reproduce building materials because their plan is to build houses and communities,” said Killian.
This is not the first time that the two companies have worked a partnership. Home Genius has contributed to donating roofs to veterans that needed repairs. Plans for other partnerships are in progress, both for more donated materials for restoration and another donated roof.
Annie Fox is Chief Development Officer of the local habitat branch.
“I had spoken to Austin (Killian), who is one of the VPS and founders, and we already agreed that he would help us replace another roof for another veteran,” said Fox. “So we will look through our list of people who are in need and get it going.”
